Training in the workplace

Training-workplace

There is never enough time in the workplace to do training. Consider a whole day for training? No way. Can’t do. So then what? This is a dilemma that is faced everyday by companies. Lack of training cost companies many lost hours. Under skilled staff appear to be inefficient and ineffective.

The development and up skilling of staff is a trade-off. Time lost for training versus time gained as staff become more skilled and therefore more efficient and effective. The planning of time for training should be robust and non-negotiable. Everyone should attend training with a positive attitude towards learning. (This is not a day off). Companies need to engender a culture of constant self-development and upskilling.

Delegates who have attended an Excel course found that their new Excel skills have saved up to 2 hours in their day. So if a company sent 4 delegates on a training course the net result could be 8 extra hours available every day. That would equate to having 1 extra staff member!

Training is a short term cost with long term savings.
